| About Us This is a website for medical professionals run by medical professionals. It is intended to provide an online resource for optimising medical skills. I spent hours as an undergraduate in medicine running from ward to ward and lecture to lecture trying to see Charcots joints or a Duputryens contracture or such like. Frequently I'd come upon a miserable patient disgruntled with the torrents of medical students he/she had seen that day. I also spent hours trying to chase down radiology registrars to get tutorials on chest x-rays or PFA's - and if you thought the patient was disgruntled you should have seen them! As a postgraduate in a certain specialty the amount of times I wished I could "brush up" in certain aspects of medicine without humiliating myself are more than I care to mention. I suspect I'm not alone in this! So this site is primarily about education. For the undergrad it's about supplementing lectures and tutorials with extra material. For the post-grad it's about reacquaintance with forgotten knowledge. The most important thing is that it is run by the members. You decide what topics are covered. You decide on the feedback for each of the tutorials and you are free to submit your own material for publication at any time. |

| Services We Provide We provide online tutorials in all areas of medicine. If you're a medical student revising for exams, a specialist who wishes to reacquaint yourself with some forgotten knowledge, or a practitioner wishing to enhance your knowledge in a particular sphere then this site is for you. Every month the site is updated. These tutorials are then stored in an online archive to be accessed at your convenience. Initially we will cover the topics that we know are of interest to most medical practitioners and as time goes on we will be able to address more specific topics as they are raised by you. By using the message board and "contact us" facilities you can ensure that we are aware of the issues that are of particular interest to you. These issues will be addressed. |

Membership will be free up to June 2005. We envisage that subscription costs will be 5 euro per month. Membership can be cancelled at any time. We are not backed by any corporate interests so we are heavily reliant on membership fees for funding. This will limit us a little in the early stages but with your patience and support we will build this into a doctor-led, independent educational website whose only agenda is the enhancement of your knowledge. Remember this site is your site. Please participate. Post questions on the message board, submit queries by email and if you want to submit your own presentations to the editorial committee please do so. Let us reinvigorate medicine with the enthusiasm of the inquiring mind - your mind! |
